Stoorie is a product of Submiti Ltd (company number 17205395), a company registered in England and Wales and registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO registration ZC162501). The short version

We never train AI on your words, and we never turn painful entries into career language. We mask your contact details before anything is sent for shaping. You can delete everything at any time, and we do not sell your data or show ads.

What we collect

Your account email, used to sign you in. The moments you write or speak. The shaped versions Stoorie creates from them (a story, or a note kept in your own words). Which experience areas a story relates to. And basic technical logs about engine speed and errors, which contain no story content.

How your private words are protected

Before your text is sent for shaping, Stoorie masks your contact details on your device, emails, phone numbers and reference numbers. Spoken notes are transcribed by a trusted service, and your text is then shaped by our AI engine; neither trains its models on your content. A copy of your original wording stays on your device so you can always see exactly what you said. We do not read your words. We do not train on them. They are yours.

Who processes your data

We use Supabase to host data and manage sign-in, Anthropic (the maker of the Claude AI model) to shape your words into usable language, AssemblyAI to transcribe spoken notes, and Resend to send email. Each processes your words only to provide that feature, and none trains its models on your content. We do not sell your data, and we do not show advertising.

Personal and difficult entries

When an entry is about distress, grief or crisis rather than something you did, Stoorie keeps it as a note in your own words. It is never turned into career language, and Stoorie never treats it as career evidence or puts it into an application on its own. It does stay part of your record, so you can find it later and it is included if you export your data. If an entry signals crisis, Stoorie shows a support helpline beside it. If you ever choose to shape one into a story later, that is your decision and yours alone.

Why we are allowed to process it

We process your data to provide the service you have asked for, which is our agreement with you, and, where relevant, on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

How long we keep it

We keep your data until you delete it. The "Delete all data" option in Settings permanently removes your entries from our database and clears the original words held on your device. Deleting cannot be undone.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct, export or erase your data, and you can object to or restrict how we process it. You can delete everything yourself in Settings, or contact us at admin@stoorie.com. You also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.

Security

Access to your data is limited to your own account, your contact details are masked before anything is sent, and data is encrypted in transit. No system is ever perfectly secure, but we take protecting your words seriously. We do not read them, we do not train on them, and we do not share them.

Children

Stoorie is intended for adults building a record of their working life. It is not directed at children under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date below, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app.
